When I’m getting yarn ready to put in my shop, I always re-skein each skein of yarn. That means I transfer it from one yarn swift to another, changing the diameter of the loop. The reason is that the colors get redistributed, making it look more like how it’ll be when it’s knitted. I thought y’all might like to see before-and-after shots of an experimental skein I dyed in a new colorway I’m calling Spruce.

Before: twisted into a traditional skein to keep it untangled. See the blotches of color?

After: it’s been re-skeined and braided in my trademark way. Notice how the colors blend now.
