Stashbot and Kittywake

April 26, 2014

I’m so excited because a package that wasn’t supposed to get here until Monday came today!

Earlier this week I decided to order a copy of Hannah Fettig’s recent release, Stashbot. I’m sure I’ve mentioned that I really want to work on building a good stash I can utilize when I design, so I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy. While I was at it, I tossed in a couple skeins of Finch since shipping would be the same with or without. When I ordered a skein of Finch last year to see what I think about it, I wanted to get the colorway Kittywake, but it was out of stock. This time, though, they had it!

I read through the booklet and spent some time looking at all the charts. I’m confident that I’ll be able to learn a lot from using the information tucked inside. I must admit that when I first pulled it out of the packaging, I was disappointed that it’s so small. But looks can be deceiving, I found as I realized just how much info the pages contain!

And two new skeins of Finch in Kittywake are lovely. The gray is inviting, and the heathered plies lend depth.

And, just as I hoped they would, they look really nice with my skein of Kumlien’s Gull. So now I have 3 skeins to turn into some fun, matching 2-tone designs.
