there's just something about yarn...

Quince & Co. Chickadee

Quince & Co. Chickadee in Belize, Sedum & Petal

I received my order from Quince & Co. yesterday! It was my third package of yarn to arrive in the space of a week — feels like Christmas is here early!

The four skeins of Chickadee for a new shawl design are what I’ll be posting about in this entry. The other skein I got is another base and therefore will have its own entry. I didn’t want to make this entry too long with photos, so I’m splitting them. ;)

Before I share photos, I want to say that I love this yarn for the same reason I mentioned being excited about Brooklyn Tweed’s Shelter: it feels like home. I’m so proud that this wonderful yarn is made by my own people in my homeland. It’s softer than Shelter, but it still has the same feel of heritage. And the colorways, most of which are not heathered like Shelter, are just as beautiful and inspiring.

Quince’s branding is so simple, and I love it.

This personal hand-written thank-you made me feel all warm & fuzzy!

I carefully opened the bag and saved the Q sticker! This is what I first saw.

First skein: Sedum

Depth of field shot — my favorite! Isn’t this color lovely?

These tags are so adorable! And they have rounded corners (which you all know from getting Annie Yarn is a thing with me)!

Depth of field again! It’s a must when I photograph yarn…

And here’s the tag.

Last but not least: Petal

Had to do a depth of field shot of this one too…

Cute little tag!!

It wasn’t until after I set them on my desk while blogging that I realized that the color combination is very similar to my blog’s color scheme! I thought that was kinda funny.

Next I’ll share photos of my other skein, Finch…
