Quince & Co. has won yet another seal of approval from me for their Phoebe base! Oh my goodness! Chickadee used to be my favorite, but now I have definitely been won over by Phoebe. It’s the softest base of theirs that I have felt to date (honestly not saying a whole lot because I’ve only felt a few of them since they’re not in any LYS’s in my area) and I CANNOT wait to knit with it!
As y’all will have heard by now if you watch my podcast (this episode right here actually), I ordered the kit Quince did for the Euclid shawl, plus an extra skein, in the stormy blue-grey colorway Mercury. Only to realize that it’s a sweater quantity.. which makes me question what it will become. Yay me!
Anyway, on the podcast, since my iPhone camera and my crappy lighting did not do it justice, I promised photos of this gorgeousness here on the blog where you can see the depth of this lovely color. I finally had a cloudy day along with time to take photos!

In this next image, you get a real feel for the subtle-yet-noticeable shifts in hue in this yarn. It’s going to be fun to see how it knits up!

I had a little bit of fun with my photo-editing software.. I pushed this final image toward the black and white spectrum with just a hint of color and liked how it turned out. As I mentioned in my post about Psych, it was a cold weather day, so I had my beloved Sperry boots on. I just thought with the grey sweatshirt, blue-grey yarn, and the boots in the background, it kinda painted a wintry feel.
