Recently I had the pleasure of visiting my old LYS out near Athens, Main Street Yarns & Fibers. I hadn’t been there in a couple of years due to living so much farther away than I used to. It was great being in downtown Watkinsville again. We even dropped by the bakery there.
I got some very special yarn at the shop — my first Manos and my first Noro! I’d been wanting to try Manos for a long time, but the only yarn of theirs I’d seen was Maxima, which is a lot like Malabrigo’s Merino Worsted base. So I never got any. But this time I found myself petting skeins of Alegría, which I think might be a new-ish base. I settled on the colorway Tannat, and I love it…
Then as I made my way around the shop, I found — gasp, could it be? — Noro Silk Garden! I hadn’t seen it in a really long time in any LYS’s around here, and I’ve been wanting to try entrelac in that specific yarn since I first saw how well the color repeats work with the Entrelac Scarf pattern by Allison LoCicero. Soooo I nabbed two skeins.
