Hello everyone. I know I’ve been really scarce lately, and some of you know from Ravelry what’s been going on. But I wanted to write about it here for those of you who don’t know…
Last month my dad passed away. He’d been having heart troubles since 2012, and last month he suffered a massive heart attack. God took him home on the 15th. My mom and sisters and I are so blessed to have friends who are watching out for us and praying us through this transition. We’re doing incredibly well, and we are grateful for the love and support we’ve found.
My first dye day after he passed away was very difficult. My dad helped me get started with my current system, and we worked together last summer on Yarnbox. It was harder than I expected to dye yarn that day. But it’s okay because I know he would want me to keep at it, and he did everything he could to make it so I could be successful as an indie dyer.
So now when I dye yarn, it is in loving memory of my dad. Here’s a photo of him last fall on his birthday at one of my family’s favorite places: Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. I wanted to share it with you…
