This is a fun and unusual post. I’m sure you’ll agree once you’ve read what I’m about to say. :P
I just had the pleasure of doing a yarn-swap with another yarn-dyer! My friend Caitlyn of Fiber Hound has a gorgeous autumnal colorway called Barking Up The Right Tree, which I’ve had my eye on for a long time, and she really likes my Patina color way, so we swapped! I dyed up a skein of Patina for her, and she dyed me a skein of Barking Up The Right Tree. It was really fun and special, and I’m sooooo excited to knit with my lovely new yarn!
Another reason I’m excited is because the oranges in the colorway are the exact same shade as my Spiced Pumpkin colorway, which I recently dyed for myself in a single-ply base I’m thinking about carrying in my shop. The two skeins are sitting together on my desk right now, reminding me of my recent trip to North Carolina and the short ride we took on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’m thinking some mountain-inspired designs will be coming out of these two skeins, both colorways used together. Won’t that be fun, using colorways from two different dyers? :)
