There are some pretty big things in the works for me. The reason I’m blogging is because some of them involve my career as a knitwear designer and yarn-dyer. And it’s because of these things that I feel like I’m at a crossroads. I’m standing here looking at the possibilities and wondering where I’ll be going next, which road I’ll be traveling.
I think I’ll be more prominently a yarn-dyer than a knitwear designer, and that is a big change for me. Since I realized that God gave me an eye for design, I’ve thought of myself as a knitwear designer. So to suddenly shift from that to yarn-dyer is strange. But at the same time, it feels like a natural progression. As though I am going from designing, where I work with other yarn brands, to creating my own beautiful palette of yarns to be inspired by.
So I’ll be both indie dyer and designer. One will be more prominent, more time-consuming, than the other. But both will be rewarding, as they will compliment one another in my work. That sounds like a rather nice arrangement, don’t you think? :)
