Knitting Projects

Chevron Blanket

I recently saw this lovely pattern on Ravelry and decided then and there to knit myself a larger version as a lap throw. I got on Knit Picks and found their Dishie yarn, a soft cotton worsted weight, and happily saw that they had colors that would go with the new decor in my room. I chose Conch, Swan, Mint, Honeydew, and Ash, two skeins of each. And since it’s Knit Picks where the dye lots are soooooo consistent, if I decide to make an even bigger blanket, I know I can order more later.

The yarn arrived yesterday, woohoo!! So I laid it out on my bed and tried several different arrangements of colors. I’d made two I liked and I couldn’t decide which one to go with. My mum made a tweak to it by changing the starting color, and I loved it! The sequence will be…

A: Honeydew

B: Conch

C: Ash

D: Mint

E: Swan

According to the pattern, the beginning color won’t be in the blanket again until the end, so that’s why I arranged them like that for these last two photos. It gave me a great feel of how the finished blanket will look. Now I can’t wait to get started! Hmmmm, should I finish my Hitchhiker first though? :P
